Under the leadership of Rev. Father Destiny Francis Amenuvor, the Youth Against Corruption (YAC) engaged some pilgrims of the maiden West African Youth Days, Accra 2026, hosted by St. Theresa's Parish, Kaneshie. The Catholic youth from four countries - Togo, Ivory Coast, Benin, and Ghana - were engaged in a dialogue centered on the theme “Sent to Witness.” Participants reflected on their calling not as silent observers, but as active witnesses who take bold action against corruption.
These young leaders, many already serving in various church roles, embraced their responsibility as ambassadors of integrity and agents of change. They strongly advocated for establishing YAC chapters in their respective countries, recognizing the urgent need for youth-driven anti-corruption movements across West Africa.
Key concerns raised included extortion and bribery at border crossings, where travellers are often detained until payments are made. Participants highlighted how such practices not only harm local communities but also tarnish Ghana’s image among foreign nationals.
The session underscored a powerful message: Catholic youth across borders are ready to rise, unite, and lead the fight against corruption.
The leadership thanked the YAC team for their dedicated service even at night.
